ZIMBABWE

The Republic of Zimbabwe is a country located in Southern Africa. The country is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west, Mozambique to the east, and Zambia to the north. The country has an area of 390,580 km² and a population close to 16.5 million, with a GDP of USD 26 billion (World Bank, 2017).

Zimbabwe is the third largest economy in Southern Africa, with mainly agricultural (maize, tobacco, cotton) and mining resources, which include the second largest platinum reserves in the world (platinum, gold, diamonds, nickel) (source: Coface).

Zimbabwe's main partners are South Africa, Zambia, India, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Botswana and China: its leading economic partner and investor.

France also actively contributes to the country's economy with some 30 locally established companies, including Total and Lafarge. The growth sectors are urban infrastructure and services (water, transport, energy, waste, etc.), agri-food, consumer goods, tourism, telecommunications, mining and, more generally, the upgrading of industrial facilities dating back often to the 1970s.

In order to perfectly meet its customers’ needs on the Zimbabwean market, Simon Associés has developed privileged relations with economic and legal partners locally.
